Micropigmentation or permanent make-up (PMU) is the revolutionary method of depositing hypoallergenic mineral pigments into the dermal layer of the skin. With an ultra-thin needle and pigment, the colour of the lips is enhanced. Micropigmentation is also known as permanent make-up or cosmetic tattooing. It is sometimes wrongly confused with cosmetic tattoos (e.g. eyebrow tattoos or eyeliner tattoos). However, the pigments used for permanent make-up are introduced less deeply into the skin layer and have a different composition from tattoo inks. Micropigmentation devices are also more refined than tattoo machines, and the techniques that are used are different.

What is Micropigmentation?

Micropigmentation, also called permanent makeup or permanent cosmetics, has been earning extreme popularity in the beauty industry lately. It is an innovative cosmetic procedure in which plant extract pigments are deposited into the upper dermis of the skin. If poor skin health or any physical condition comes in the way of makeup application, micropigmentation helps by offering a long-lasting, smudge-free treatment. It restores confidence and self-esteem by enhancing the colour of lips. Micropigmentation is perfectly suitable for both women and men. Those who have got pigmented lips or dark patches or colour mismatch on lips can go for it.

Who are the Right Candidates?

You will be considered a good candidate for lip micropigmentation if you:

  • Wish to enhance the appearance of your lips
  • Are allergic to traditional makeup or cosmetics
  • Like to flaunt a natural ‘no makeup’ yet beautiful look always
  • Want to cover scars/ colour mismatch /dark lips/ or want a semipermanent lip colour

Scalp Micropigmentation (SMP)

It’s the micropigmentation technique which is done to improve the aesthetic appearance of scalp. Those who have less density of hair on scalp or a receeding hairline can go for this treatment. It can also be done in addition to hair transplant to enhance the appearance of scalp. It doesn’t get washed out with shampooing and is also low maintainence treatment as compared to hair patches or hair Implants. Those who do not want to go for the surgical treatment or have some medical problem and are looking for cosmetic procedure, SMP is the treatment of choice. It can also be done along with mesotherapy and PRP treatment as well as medical treatment of hairloss.

The hairline can also be restored aesthetically with SMP.

Indications for SMP

1. Male pattern hair loss
2. Female pattern hair loss
3. Improve the density post Hair Transplant
4. Hair Transplant Scars or to aesthetically hide any type of scars on scalp
